Goa film festival to begin from May 1

Panaji, Apr 28 Fourth Goa State Film Festival will begin from May 1 in the capital city of Panaji.

" Five Konkani films will be competing in the feature film category of the festival," Director of Information and Publicity Nikhil Desai told reporters here.

The festival will not have non-feature film category as only two entries were received, he said.

The Directorate of Information and Publicity and Entertainment Society of Goa will be hosting this three-day long festival.

Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat in presence of Home Minister Ravi Naik will inaugurate the festival.

The films including Antarnad (Rajendra Talak creations), Vizmit (D'costa Film Productions), Zuzari (Suhas Sanvordekar), Ordem Chador (D'mello Productions) and Bhitorlem Manacho Munis (Seby Pinto) will be vying for the coveted best film award, Desai said.

Renowned Mumbai-based filmmaker Nitin Keni will chair the four member jury which will comprise of Devi Dutt, Professor Olivin Gomes and V R Naik as its members.
